CHAPTER

The California Recreate Responsibly Coalition includes more than 40 agencies, nonprofits, and outdoor businesses, brought together by a love of the outdoors and a desire to help everyone safely enjoy the benefits of nature.

Convene

CA RRC’s role is to convene outdoor recreation stakeholders and facilitate information sharing across various positions and viewpoints in order to inform CA RRC’s actions. CA RRC’s stakeholders include cross-sector entities from non-profit, business, government agency, and affinity groups, with the intention of expanding collaboration to include an increased diversity of perspectives over time. We work together to elevate awareness and foster stewardship of recreation resources in order to minimize the impacts that increased recreation has on both land and people.

Educate

CA RRC develops, shares, and elevates insights and information to educate members and the public. We promote the importance of practicing precautions, understanding risk, developing outdoor skills, learning about personal impacts on natural ecosystems and infrastructure, and fostering safe and welcoming outdoor spaces for everyone. We serve every outdoor user, from the seasoned outdoor enthusiast to individuals and families heading out to their local park for the first time.

Amplify

CA RRC turns educational and collaboration efforts into action and aim to inspire outdoor users. We create an engaged and informed collective of advocates and enthusiasts by amplifying both the needs and the solutions that emerge from CA RRC’s conversations.
